Peugeot has big plans for the battery-electric commercial van segment, with the E-Expert set to arrive in the late stages of 2024.

Slipping into the lineup above the Peugeot E-Partner at arrived last year, the E-Expert offers a larger platform and greater driving range from its battery pack, making it a more capable electric workhorse overall.

It doesn’t come cheap, though, so let’s take a closer look at the pricing and specification details of Peugeot’s E-Expert battery-electric cargo van.

What Features & Specs Does the Peugeot E-Expert Have?

The Peugeot E-Expert comes riding on steel rims and receives Peugeot’s latest design language, headlined by rounded headlight surrounds, a sharp angular design for the front grille and a more aerodynamic front bumper.

Features for the E-Expert include LED headlights, dual sliding side doors, 180-degree barn doors at the rear, a digital instrument cluster, a rear-view camera with front & rear parking sensors, a three-seat cockpit, climate control, grey cloth upholstery and push-button start.

Peugeot E-Expert Connectivity & Infotainment Features

The Peugeot E-Expert comes packaged with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display that replaces the standard Expert’s 7.0-inch display.

Peugeot is yet to confirm the finer details, though it’s safe to assume that its latest 10-inch display will offer existing features like DAB+ digital radio, AM/FM radio, and will receive at least the four-speaker sound system fitted to the current Expert range.

Does the Peugeot E-Expert Have Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto?

We’re still waiting on the final word from Peugeot as to whether or not the upcoming Peugeot E-Expert will receive wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring.

At the very least, the E-Expert’s 10-inch infotainment system will be able to project Apple CarPlay & Android Auto via a wired connection to your smartphone, though an update with wireless smartphone connectivity may be on the cards for the upcoming E-Expert.

Peugeot E-Expert Power and Torque Figures

The Peugeot E-Expert comes powered by a single electric motor mounted at the front axle.

The electric motor produces a modest 100kW of power and 270Nm of torque which is channeled to the front wheels.

For reference, the current Peugeot Expert range’s 2.0-litre turbo-diesel produces slightly more power, at 110kW, though torque figures - which are vital for a commercial workhorse - stand at a much more impressive 370Nm.

How Far Can the Peugeot E-Expert Drive on a Single Charge?

The Peugeot E-Expert comes packaged with a 75kWh lithium-ion battery pack that the company says offers up to 330km of driving per charge, based on the WLTP test cycle.

Peugeot’s 75kWh battery pack can be DC fast-charged at speeds up to 100kW, offering a 0 - 80 per cent charge in a claimed 45 minutes.

Charging via an 11kW AC charger will bring the pack from empty to 100 per cent in a claimed seven hours, increasing to 11 hours with a 7.4kW single-phase charger.

Peugeot E-Expert Dimensions

The Peugeot E-Expert is larger than the current-generation Expert Long Wheelbase, which means it will be a more adept cargo carrier.

  • Length: 5,330mm

  • Wheelbase: 3,275mm

  • Width: 2,204mm (including mirrors)

  • Height: 1,940mm

  • Turning Circle: 12.4 metres

Peugeot E-Expert Cargo & Payload Figures

With a new, battery-electric beating heart, Peugeot’s E-Expert retains decent payload figures, though the added weight from the battery pack does come with some practical catches.

  • Payload: 1,001kg

  • Load Volume: 6,100L

For reference, the current-generation Peugeot Expert SWB has great payload figures of 1,433kg while offering 5,300L of cargo space inside the load bay.

The current Peugeot Expert LWB’s payload figures drop to 1,357kg while its cargo space figures increase to the same 6,100L you’ll find in the E-Expert.

This means that payload figures drop quite significantly in the E-Expert, though it still offers one tonne of pulling power.

Is the Peugeot E-Expert Safe?

The Peugeot E-Expert comes boasting a fairly decent list of active safety gear.

The E-Expert range receives autonomous emergency braking with low-visibility cyclist and pedestrian detection, as well as forward collision warnings and an emergency braking assist system.

It also receives blind-spot monitoring, a rear-view camera with front & rear parking sensors, driver attention alerts and an acoustic vehicle alert system to give pedestrians and audible warning you’re approaching or reversing.

The Peugeot E-Expert is yet to be assessed by ANCAP and does not have a current ANCAP safety rating.

What Warranty Does the Peugeot E-Expert Come With?

Peugeot says it will offer the E-Expert here in Australia with a five-year/200,000-kilometre factory warranty.

The E-Expert’s battery and high-voltage components will be backed by an eight-year/160,000-kilometre warranty, while the paint receives three years’ of protection and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty is thrown in for good measure.
