What Features & Specs Does the 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado Have?

While prices have risen, so too has the amount of equipment you’ll find across Toyota’s 250 Series LandCruiser Prado range.

The entry-level LandCruiser Prado GX comes riding on 18-inch alloys and receives LED headlights, LED daytime running lamps, cloth upholstery, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, body-coloured mirrors and a dark finish for the bumpers, wheel arches and side sills.

The entry-level Prado GX also picks up a locking centre differential, a surround-view camera with front & rear parking sensors, a crawl control, trailer sway and hill-descent control system, a trailer pre-wiring harness and a massively updated safety equipment list.

Upgrading to the LandCruiser Prado GXL adds a seven-seat layout for the cabin, as well as roof rails, a powered boot lift, leatherette upholstery with heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, silver bumpers, power-adjustable driver’s seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel & gear lever.

Stepping up to the LandCruiser Prado VX range adds a set of 20-inch alloys, alongside adaptive Bi-LED headlights, body-coloured bumpers, leather upholstery, adaptive suspension, multi-terrain select driving modes and live-view monitor and a refrigerated centre console.

Over that, the all-new LandCruiser Prado Altitude variant picks up 18-inch alloys wrapped in all-terrain tyres, a locking rear differential, a disconnecting stabiliser beam, a panoramic sunroof, black wheel arches, a heated steering wheel, head-up display, two-tone colour options and a five-seat layout.

Finally, the range-topping LandCruiser Prado Kakadu receives a torque-sensing limited-slip rear differential, a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and illuminated side steps.

Toyota LandCruiser Prado Connectivity & Infotainment Features

One of the major upgrades for the latest-generation Prado is an overhauled technology package that brings it much closer into line with its modern rivals.

Headlining the technology suite is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system fitted to every member of the range, which is a nice touch for price-conscious buyers who won’t miss out on a large screen.

The infotainment system receives DAB+ digital radio, satellite navigation, four USB-C ports and  is paired with a ten-speaker sound system as standard.

Stepping up to the Prado VX range adds an upgraded 14-speaker sound system courtesy of JBL.

All members of the LandCruiser Prado range also receive a subscription to Toyota’s Connected Services suite that offers remote diagnostics, stolen vehicle tracking, live navigation, collision notifications and more.

Does the Toyota LandCruiser Prado Have Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto?

Potential buyers will be pleased to know that Toyota’s updated technology suite offers both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Toyota offers the choice of connecting your iPhone or Android device to the 12.3-inch infotainment system via the USB-C port or wirelessly, meaning you can step inside and access your contacts, music and navigation apps without your phone leaving your pocket.

What Engine Powers the Toyota LandCruiser Prado?

The all-new Toyota LandCruiser Prado range arrives with an updated, mild-hybrid engine that is set to maintain healthy power and torque figures while improving fuel efficiency.

Under the bonnet, the Prado range comes powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel with some 48-volt mild-hybrid tech bundled in to take some strain off the ICE unit.

In spite of the upgrades, power figures remain at the same 150kW mark as the previous Prado, while torque remains unchanged at a hefty 500Nm.

Power is thrown to all four wheels via an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

The Prado also picks up a two-speed, low-range transfer case for the full-time 4x4 system when the going gets tough.

What are the Off-Road Specs for the Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 Series?

Across the board, the 250 Series LandCruiser Prado range offers increases to its off-roading abilities.

  • Ground Clearance: 221mm (up from 219mm)

  • Approach Angle: 31 degrees (up from 30.4)

  • Breakover Angle: 25 degrees (up from 21.1)

  • Departure Angle: 22 degrees (down from 23.5)

How Much Can the Toyota LandCruiser Prado Tow and Carry?

While power nad torque figures remain unchanged, towing abilities in the latest Prado 250 Series have jumped significantly to meet segment benchmarks.

Now, the LandCruiser Prado offers 3,500kg of braked towing capacity, which finally puts it on even-pegging with some of the most popular 4x4 rivals in its segment.

Gross vehicle mass (GVM) figures for the Prado 250 Series sit between 3,100 - 3,200kg, depending on the variant, which is a significant upgrade from the previous range’s 2,990kg GVM figures.

How Big is the Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 Series?

  • Length: 4,925mm (up from 4825mm)

  • Wheelbase: 2,850mm (up from 2,790mm)

  • Width: 1,980mm (up from 1,885mm)

  • Height: 1,870mm (up from 1,850mm)

Is the Toyota LandCruiser Prado Fuel Efficient?

Toyota is yet to confirm the official fuel economy figures for the 250 Series, though it’s expected fuel economy figures will be improved over the previous generation.

In a similar use case, the Toyota HiLux’s mild-hybrid system saw fuel economy figures improve by around 10 per cent, so we’d expect to see similar drops in fuel use for the LandCruiser Prado.

Is the Toyota LandCruiser Prado Practical and Spacious?

There’s been some major changes to what’s going on inside the latest LandCruiser Prado.

The cabin looks like a significantly more modern affair, which was one of the weaknesses of the ageing 150 Series.

The dashboard is dominated by the new 12.3-inch display, flanked by simple switchgear for the climate dials in a design very similar to that of the flagship 300 Series.

The bulky centre console offers a storage tray behind the gear lever, a pair of cupholders and tonnes of storage inside the folding armrest, which is a refrigerated unit in the case of the Prado VX.

It’s worth noting that the entry-level Prado GX is offered solely as a five-seater, as well as the all-new Prado Altitude variant.

If you’re after a seven-seat platform for a large family, you’ll need to upgrade to the Prado GXL or above.

In terms of interior accommodation, the Prado comes riding on the same NGA-F platform you’ll find underpinning the 300 Series, which means there should be acres of interior space and a significant upgrade over the previous-gen Prado.

This means you’ll find tonnes of headroom and space to stretch out inside the wide cabin.

Move to the rear and ample legroom will be more than accommodating to adults, meaning you won’t hear any complaints from kids.

The second-row bench picks up two pairs of ISOFIX anchors as well as three top tether mounts behind the seatbacks to fit a range of forward and rear-facing child seats.

How Big is the Toyota Prado’s Boot?

Toyota is yet to confirm the full dimensions for the 250 Series’ boot space, though we do know that it will offer 408L of cargo accommodation with the rear seats standing.

For reference, the 150 Series Prado offered 120L of boot space behind the third row, expanding to 620L behind the second row to a maximum of 1,833L with both rows folded.

Expect to see a substantial increase to the Prado’s boot space figures thanks to the 300 Series platform that gives it a longer footprint and more interior space.

Is it Safe?

Over its replacement, the latest Toyota Prado offers some significant safety equipment upgrades, even in the base model.

As standard, the Prado picks up autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist with lane-centring, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking support brake, trailer sway control, a surround-view monitor with front & rear parking sensors and nine airbags.

Stepping up to the VX or above adds a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Does the Toyota LandCruiser Prado Have an ANCAP Safety Rating?

The Toyota LandCruiser Prado range is yet to be put to the test by ANCAP and, as a result, does not have a current ANCAP safety rating.

What Warranty Does the Toyota LandCruiser Prado Come With?

Toyota offers the LandCruiser Prado range with a five-year/unlimited-kilometre factory warranty.

Coverage for the power and drivetrains can extend out to seven years if the vehicle is serviced at correct intervals at a Toyota dealership.

The company also offers ten capped-price services when the Prado is serviced at the dealership.

Service intervals for the LandCruiser Prado range stand at a relatively short six-month/10,000-kilometres.
