Overview
You can think of the Mazda CX-80 as the modern-day successor to the family-favourite CX-9 SUVs, with a three-row platform happy to accommodate a family of seven. The CX-80 uses a platform borrowed from the smaller CX-60 SUV while adding a third row of seats that make it a more practical package overall. Mazda offers the CX-80 with a choice of three engines, including the 3.3-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder diesel and petrol units you’ll find in other members of its large SUV lineup and a range-topping plug-in hybrid electric that sips just 2.9L per 100km on the combined cycle.
