The Mahindra Scorpio is a family-friendly 4x4 that offers some serious value for money. Here in Australia, there are two versions of the Mahindra Scorpio on offer including a Z8 base model and the more premium Z8L, both of which come powered by a turbo-diesel engine and receive a 4x4 system and a locking rear differential. Inside, the Scorpio’s three-row cabin offers a six-seat layout while the company’s seven-year warranty makes it one of the most impressive value propositions in the segment.

Overview
Mahindra is hoping its Scorpio four-wheel drive wagon will make a lasting impression on Australian buyers with a tight budget. With power supplied by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, the Scorpio produces 129kW of power and 400Nm of torque, giving it 2,500kg of braked towing capacity and strong off-road performance thanks to its rugged body-on-frame construction and 227mm of ground clearance. The entry-level Scorpio picks up a lengthy equipment list which includes 18-inch alloys, LED headlights, a sunroof and an 8.0-inch infotainment system, while the Scoprio Z8L picks up a digital instrument cluster and 12-speaker sound system from Sony.
