Finally, for those looking to make million-dollar supercars blush, the EV6 GT receives more powerful motors at the front and rear, pushing out a combined 430kW of power and 740Nm of torque that allows it to hit 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds.

Behind the wheel, the EV6 proves itself a silky smooth and relaxing commuter.

It ticks a number of important boxes on the daily driving experience, with its lightweight and accurate steering making for a great option for town driving and open roads alike.

The performance-focussed EV6 GT is less user-friendly around town, namely due to the heavier steering and significantly wider turning circle that makes it a bit more of a handful, but it offers a level of performance that is barely believable for the price.

In terms of the more sensible EV6 and GT-Line variants, they both offer a nice and smooth driving dynamic and excellent handling.

They also receive a regenerative braking system that can be dialed up with one-pedal driving that’s perfect for the urban jungle and the EV6 feels agile and confident in and around town.

The ride is a little firm on rougher surfaces, though their lively steering and confidence-inspiring AWD system in the case of more expensive variants make them a dream to tackle a series of curves in.

On the highway, the EV6 proves itself a great long-distance tourer, with its quiet, relaxing cabin offering a lovely place to sit back and chew up the kilometres on a weekend or holiday drive.

All up, Kia has done a great job in making the EV6 approachable for both city and country buyers, with a range of powertrain options for both sensible buyers and speed freaks alike.

How Far Can the Kia EV6 Drive on a Single Charge?

As we’ve mentioned, Kia offers the EV6 with a choice of three powertrains, though all variants come powered by the same 77.4kWh battery pack for now.

The entry-level EV6 Air RWD has the highest range figures of the bunch, sitting at a claimed 528km of driving on a single charge.

The EV6 GT-Line RWD is rated at 504km of range, while the EV6 GT-Line AWD can drive up to 484km on a single charge.

The pursuit of speed in the EV6 GT drops range figures down to 424km.

It looks as though the updated MY25 Kia EV6 range arriving in the early stages of 2025 will receive a larger 84kWh battery and potentially more energy-efficient electric motors that will increase these range figures.

Is the Kia EV6 Practical and Spacious?

The Kia EV6 is packaged with a lovely interior that maximises every ounce of practicality from its bespoke EV platform, proving itself a very family-friendly option.

Step inside and you’re greeted with a relatively low-slung driving position which adds a nice amount of headroom up front.

It’s hard to ignore the two 12.3-inch displays atop the dashboard which makes things feel contemporary and, perhaps more importantly, nice and clean.

Kia’s climate inputs and media controls are found on the same clever dial which shuffles between the two, allowing quick inputs without over-crowding the dashboard with buttons.

Aside from the tech, the headline act for buyers in the front of the EV6 cabin will no doubt be the floating centre console design that not only looks great but effectively doubles your storage space.

There’s a rubberised charging pad and cup holders sitting alongside the rotary gear dial and handbrake, while another console hiding beneath offers a large raised tray to keep handbags and large water bottles under control.

Move to the rear and the EV6 does not disappoint when it comes to second-row accommodation.

There’s acres of legroom thanks to the EV6’s clever interior design and bespoke EV platform, which means it has no trouble accommodating long legs without any knees banging against the seatback.

Models fitted with the panoramic sunroof sacrifice a little in the way of headroom, though overall things are comfortable for adults seated in the rear, meaning you won’t hear any complaints from kids in the back.

One thing you will notice is that due to the massive battery sitting underneath the floor, your legs sit ever so slightly higher than what you might be used to in other vehicles, though the difference is small.

Storage areas aren’t quite as plentiful with the front of the cabin, though rear passengers still pick up bottle holders and amenities like air vents and USB charging ports.

Parents will be happy to know that the EV6 comes packaged with two pairs of ISOFIX anchors as well as three top tether mounts on the seatbacks, with easy access into the second row thanks to the wide-aperture doors.

All up, the EV6’s bespoke EV architecture has allowed Kia to get creative with the interior layout which proves absolutely fantastic when it comes to practicality, rivalling what’s on offer in a significantly larger SUV package.

How Big is the Kia EV6’s Boot?

The Kia EV6 remains a solid performer when it comes to boot space, though it’s not a game-changer.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find a compact storage area measuring 20L in total.

While capacity is limited, this allows you to stash some shallow and potentially more valuable items out of sight from the cabin.

Lift the powered tailgate and you’ll find between 480L - 490L of boot space behind the standing second row, putting the EV6 on par with a number of midsize SUVs, even with its coupe-inspired hatchback design.
